This is the leading multifocal implant and gives excellent distance and near vision when used after cataract surgery. Intermediate vision is good although not quite as crisp. Halos at night are common for the first 4-6 weeks after surgery but tend to disappear over time. Reading requires good light; in a dim restaurant, patients may need a cell phone light to shine on the menu. This lens in general gives the maximum freedom from glasses for the most number of patients. Patients with prior mild or moderate glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal scar tissue, corneal scars, or radial keratotomy are not good candidates for this lens. Please Contact Us in Eugene to speak with Dr. Ambati about you eye care & post-cataract options.
